9/19/2021 Linda being Linda

(Marilyn)

When I got there today I could hear her crying as I was walking down the hall but it took a few minutes to get my gown and gloves on.  When I walked into the room, she said, "There you are, I didn't think you were coming and I was calling out for you."

Her sugar levels were good today and we had a fairly calm day with no mention of Mother, thank goodness.

Around lunch time the nurses came in to change her gown, as well as change the bed linens.  I stepped out into the hall to give them privacy (I couldn't go far because of the gown thing).  I heard Linda's characteristic "Oh oh oh oh," whenever something happens that she doesn't like and then the nurses came out.  When I went back in, she was sobbing.  I asked her what was wrong and she said, "That nurse said she could do anything to me that she wanted and there was nothing I could do about it."  And she kept crying and saying things that made no sense.  The nurse was only in there for five minutes or less. I pretty much knew that Linda just didn't like being touched by a stranger and I'm quite sure the nurse didn't say that.  It's a matter of interpretation.

I tried to calm her down by explaining that the nurses have to touch her in order to do their jobs to help her get better but she kept on crying.  However, when lunch came she calmed down immediately and started eating.  LOL

That's when I left.  It is so sad.
